After riding 900km in six days, we were really looking forward to a rest.
Eucla is a good spot for a rest, there aren’t any options. It is amazing how quickly the day disappears. After taking time for breakfast instead of being rushed, Richard drove us down to the beach which is the start of the Great Australian Bight. It was very disappointing, I thought there would be a 12-foot wave smashing against rocks. Instead of that, it was just like a suburban beach full of seaweed, and hardly even a wave. I could see how rough and wild it could be with nothing between Australia and Antarctica.
We got back about 10.30 am then had to walk forever to get to the caravan park. We headed to the washing machines to catch up on the washing.
The rest of the day was really nice. We had roast beef and gravy rolls, and I got to catch up on work and basically did nothing or as little as possible for the rest of the day.
Eddie the Eagle came with us to the beach and was featured in many photos. Apart from that it was a very quiet day as we had a really big day coming up the next day.
